Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
The children made some pompom chicks to decorate the village tree.
We held our Easter Service in Litton Church to remember the significance of the Easter story. The Y6 children re-told the story by spelling out the word RISEN. The whole school had learnt a number of Easter hymns which we sang during the service. Some children played solo pieces during the service and Infant children sang Spring Chicken.
The History Van came to visit school and the children consolidated their learning about the Sheffield Flood. They were particularly interested in the story of Rollo the dog.
Well done to everyone who returned their paper plates. Some amazing entries.
We had a great day dressing up as our favourite characters, buddy reading and showing our paper plates.
We had a great time on our last day. We started the day with gem-panning. Then we carried out a river study by measuring the flow, depth and width of the river. This was great opportunity to stand in the river. Then we went river dipping to find out what living things can be found in the river. After a well deserved lunch, we had a fun time collecting logs for den building. Everyone had an enjoyable time on our residential and went home very tired. Congratulations to all the children for their impeccable behaviour and making it such a fun and happy experience.
We had a very busy day. We started the day by map reading and using grid references. Then we went out for a hike to Mam Tor using our map reading skills and compasses. We had a picnic near to Odin’s mine. Everyone loved the mud chute!!!
We had a good first day at Losehill. The children enjoyed the Treak Cliff Cavern visit, especially the part that looked like cream cheese. The children carried out a village study around Castletown before making candles in the evening. We are very proud to have had some many positive comments about the childrens’ excellent listening and behaviour.
As part of our topic in Red Group ‘I Want To Be…’ the Police came to visit the children in school. Bill and Joel (the Police) talked to the children about their jobs, we tried on some uniform and they showed us some of their kit for their work. Thank you for visiting us.
