Past Governors

We would like to thank all the work for the school by our past Governors:

 

Pauline Wood (LA Governor)

Retired CIPFA accountant. Worked for Sheffield City Council as a Financial Manager to the Resources portfolio before retirement. Was part of the Finance project team that procured Private Finance Initiatives for schools in Sheffield.

 

Rebecca Perkins (Clerk to the Governors from Sept 2021) 
Rebecca is also the School Business Manager at Litton School, and has been since 2019.  

 

Stephen Miller (Foundation Governor)
Chief Operation Officer/Chief Technology Officer for a decision support company in Sheffield, with lengthy experience in technology/web enabled services for Local Authorities, the NHS and wider Adult Social Care. Parent of 1 pupil at Litton School.

 

Simon White (Foundation Governor)

Vicar of Tideswell, and so also vicar of Litton, since 2013; previously a Teacher of Drama (Secondary) in Nottinghamshire, before being ordained and serving in parishes in Stockport and South East Derbyshire.

 

Dr Stuart Cunningham (Foundation Governor)

Senior lecturer in Human Communication Sciences at University of Sheffield with over 10 years teaching experience. Has led several government and charity funded research projects. Trustee of local sports charity. Parent of former pupil. 

 

Mark Dodd (Parent Governor)
Mark has 2 children at the school.

 

Sharon Mills (Foundation Governor)
Experienced project, programme and change manager, within UK and Europe, delivering software and infrastructure projects from small companies through to multinationals across a range of industries. Parent of 2 pupils at Litton School.

 

Professor Mike Burrell (Foundation Governor, Ex-officio)
Emeritus Professor at Sheffield University. Career in both industry and academia with a dual passion for learning and for health and safety/risk assessment. Litton Church Warden.


John Evans (Local Authority Governor)
Former Deputy Director of Children, Schools and Families (Herts). 40 years experience in teaching and educational management, with responsibility from pre-school to higher education. Past chair of Litton Parish Council. 

 

James Warriner (Parent Governor)
Parent Governor. 20 yrs senior management experience with major blue chip organisations. Educated to Post Graduate level in Human Resources and Business Studies. Over 40 years of working with local community groups and committees. Parent of 2 pupils at Litton School. 

 

Katie Eldridge (Clerk to the Governors (to Sept 2016)) 
Fully qualified professional librarian.  Past ISO 9001 QMS compliance officer. Invaluable link between the Governors and Friends of Litton School; parent of 1 pupil at Litton School. 

 

Jennifer Bower

Derbyshire Dales District Councillor; Community and Environment Committee; Parish Councillor; Tideswell PCC member. Parent of former Litton school pupils.  

 

Jane Gregory
Worked in education for 32 years.  Derbyshire LEA Improvement Team.  School Improvement Partner  Head Teacher Performance Management advisor. Manager of DCC  home education Team.  

 

Matt Lawson 
Experienced recruitment consultant for professional and senior management positions. Independent Business Consultant. Parent of former Litton school pupils.  

 

Richard Moore-Coulson
Church of England Reader; International travellor with passion for engagement and partnerships with educational projects in developing countries. Link with Tideswell PCC. 

 

Sharon Rennie 
Former Head Orthoptist in NHS with a passion for the school and village. Past parent governor and former Teaching Assistant.  Her grandchild is a Litton school pupil.  

 

Ian Whiteside 
Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University in Tourism and Business.  Foundation Governor and parent of 1 pupils at Litton School. 

 

Mike Renger
Past Partner in London/Sheffield law firm; former Chair of Sheffield Groundwork; former Board member of Sheffield Hallam Uni.; Sheffield One Regeneration Co and Sheffield Theatres. Parent of former pupils. 

 

Nicola Parkin (Clerk to the Governors (to Sept 2021))

Teaching assistant at Litton School and former Clerk to Governors from 2016-2021.

 

Professor Mike Burrell (Associate Governor for Health and Safety)
Emeritus Professor at Sheffield University. Career in both industry and academia with a dual passion for learning and for health and safety/risk assessment. Litton Church Warden.

 

Helena Dowling (Foundation Governor)
P.A. to a gentleman with Down's Syndrome. Extensive experience as a Childminder, Foster Carer, Scout Leader and advocate for those  with learning difficulties. Parent of 2 pupils at Litton.

 

Ellen Hopkins (Parent Governor)
Teacher with 8 years experience at secondary level, with responsibility for primary liaison in languages.  Leadership roles in church youth groups and Litton toddler group. Proprietor of property letting/ management business.  Parent of 3 pupils and Teaching Assistant part-time at Litton School.

 

Rev Dr Nicola McNally (Foundation Governor)

Assistant curate of Tideswell Benefice (which includes Litton) since 2020.  Prior to ordination in 2020, Associate Professor in Materials Engineering at the University of Nottingham.
