Welcome back, everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Easter with your families and are ready for an exciting summer term.
You will be happy to hear that we are continuing to read our class book ‘A Bear Called Paddington’ by Micheal Bond. I know you all want to see how it finishes so we will make sure we get the chance for this before starting our new book. Once we have finished learning about Paddington’s adventures, we will read our new book ‘Leo and The Gordon’s Curse’ by Joe Todd Stanton.
In our writing, we will be writing character descriptions about Paddington Bear. After this, we will use our Plants topic in Science to write a biography about Dr. George Washington Carver who was an agricultural scientist and inventor. Our poetry this half term will be learning to create shape poems using figurative language.
In Maths, Year 3 will be learning about mass and capacity; money and time. Year 4 will be looking at decimals, money and time.
Our science topic will focus on the wonderful world of plants, including: seed dispersal; the life cycle of plants and the parts of a flower.
Also, in PSHE this term will allow us to spend time discussing how we can keep our bodies healthy.
Year 3 have been investigating measuring in litres and millilitres. Well done!
