Autumn 2

Welcome back everyone, I hope you have had a lovely week off with your family and are ready for a busy half term!

This half term our class novel is ‘Clever Polly and The Stupid Wolf’ by Catherine Storr.
How do you think Polly will trick the wolf?

We will be studying traditional tales this half term and using them as our inspiration for our limerick poetry writing. We will also be gathering ideas from Edward Lear’s famous ‘Book of Nonsense’.

After our poetry unit, we will be writing our own twisted tales using the characters and themes identified in well-known traditional tales. I look forward to hearing all about a wolf, Goldilocks and, maybe even, The Three Little Pigs!

Our maths focus this term will be multiplication and division. Your TT Rockstars practise will definitely be used lots this half term!

In science, our topic is ‘Electricity’. You will get the opportunity to look at the electrical components found in a circuit and investigate how we can light a bulb, make a motor spin and sound a buzzer.

We are really looking forward to studying Litton village in our history topic before enjoying a wonderful, festive end to the term at Christmas.

Here are a few of our limericks based on characters from traditional tales. We hope they make you smile!
