This term our topic is “Our Local Area”. We will be diving into history to answer the question ‘was Litton always a lovely place?’. Our history will be based on Litton Cotton Mill and the lives of the cotton workers.
Our class book this term is Street Child - we will follow the harrowing life of Jim Jarvis as he escapes the workhouse!
The book “Street Child” is based on real life events. Jim Jarvis was a real child who went to Barnardo’s Ragged School. For our English we have written a biography on Thomas John Barnardo.
