We have been learning about place value!

We made sushi and wrote the recipe. We also wrote a piece of writing to persuade people to try sushi!

We learnt about the Japanese festival of Hanami and visited the cherry trees in Tideswell to inspire us to write our Japanese haiku poems

We read Beowulf and wrote our own Anglo Saxon myths. We then gathered in the heorot to listen to our myths!

We were evacuees for the day! We had to leave our home in Manchester and travel by train to Millers Dale and then walk to Litton. We brought our Wold War 2 packed lunch, gas mask and bag with special belongings. We had to line up in the Village Hall and wait for villagers to choose us. It really scary and helped us to imagine how children felt and inspired us to write a diary of an evacuee.

We climbed Litton Edge to inspire our poetry writing about mountains

Hermione’s Grandad came to talk to us about his expedition to Everest Base Camp. We wrote a non-chronological about Nepal and how to reach Base Camp.

We have been learning about place value. We created some Autumn place value maths!

Year 3 have started learning their Brass instruments!
