Juniors have had a great time visiting the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. They had the opportunity to take part in a range of athletic track and field events. We were really proud of how they tried their best and cheered for each other.
We have had an incredible Science Week this week, with visits from an ecologist, a soil scientist, Peak Ambassadors and The Blue Cross. The enthusiasm which has been shown by the pupils and staff has been fantastic. It has been an amazing way to inspire our pupils and promote the wonderful world of STEM. Thank you to our Science Ambassadors for helping this week and running your competition.
We are very pleased to announce our new Science Ambassadors for Litton. Each pupil was asked to complete an application form and explain why they would love to be one of our ambassadors. It was a very tricky decision but we know that our Ambassadors are going to be fantastic! Well done, Ambassadors!
We have some fantastic bakers in our school. Children from all classes and parents entered our bake off competition in the categories of best tasting cakes and the best decorated cakes and cupcakes.
All the cakes will be sold on Saturday in the village hall when FOLS create a the Litton tea room to raise money for the school.
We held our Fun Run on the Memorial field to raise money for new school iPads. The children dressed up in costumes and managed to run a mile. The Year 6 carried out a warm-up session at the beginning of the run and a warm-dowm afterwards. Thank you to everyone who took part in this event and for the adults / parents who encouraged the children on the sideline.
Junior Class enjoyed a visit from Kevin who is an engineer from the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in Sheffield. Kevin will be judging our engineering competition in a few weeks!
The children made some pompom chicks to decorate the village tree.
