This term our topic is ‘A Child’s War’ focusing on the events of World War Two.
Our class book this term is ‘When The Sky Falls’ by Phil Earle. 📚
We have started the term off by writing kennings poems in English to describe the blitz. Kennings are a bit like riddles where the reader has to guess what is being described. Each line has two words joined by a hyphen.
We have been working very hard over the past couple of weeks to create atmospheric setting descriptions for the blitz. We have focused on using the five senses to describe and show don’t tell phrases to portray emotion.
This term in Design and Technology we are making sling shot cars! 🏎️
So far, we have researched different car designs, made the chassis, built the body and created a net prototype!
